We LOVE shooting weddings! Every wedding is unique while at the same time similar to other weddings of the same tradition.
Alyssa and Brandon’s wedding had all the customary elements of a Jewish Wedding, while still maintaining aspects unique to each of them and to themselves as a couple.
The Park Hyatt in Toronto provided an elegant backdrop for the events of the day.
The hotel and surrounding area provide lots of opportunity for interesting locations all within a short walk.
We started, as usual, with the girls getting ready. There is always an underlying current of excitement as hair is done up and make up is applied. This is the beginning of the beginning.
A few quick shots of Brandon getting ready – with a little help from his father, and it was time for a first look – high on a balcony with an amazing view of the city.
Bride and Groom photos were next, followed by Wedding Party and Family Formals.
The Groom’s Tish included songs of celebration, the signing of the Ketubah, and toasts to the groom and to the couple.
At the Bedeken, Alyssa was veiled by Brandon and words of advice were imparted by their parents.
That done, it was time for the ceremony under the Chuppah.
This is the part of the day that always moves us the most. All the preparation, celebration, emotion, and planning lead to this point. This is it. The moment a new family is born. Behind them, a long and winding road leading to this juncture.
Ahead of them, a blank canvas on which each of them will leave their marks.
